Remember Me Thursday 2019

Since it began in 2013, Remember Me Thursday® has made more than 1 billion impressions on social media. This worldwide campaign would never have reached so many people without support from bloggers and influencers like you.
Our Cute Sophia Loren was a rescue and she was the light of our lives! We have supported and commemorated, “Remember Me Thursday” since its conception. Sophia was a rescue dog and she was the best little ball of energy that God had ever made. Sadly, she was killed by another dog in a freak attack the end of 2017 but her love and life will never be forgotten. Today, help us remember all orphaned pets around the world that they will find their forever families.
History
Let’s take social media by storm for orphan pets!On September 26, 2019, we want to get the entire world talking about pet adoption. Tweet, tag, post and share the beauty and life-saving significance of pet adoption on social media. Let’s honor the lost pets who ran out of time and bring awareness to the pets we can still help by working together and using our voices.

Be a Part of the Remember Me Thursday Awareness Movement
Orphan pets should live in forever homes, not die waiting for them. Get everyone you know on social media to talk about pet adoption on Thursday, September 26, 2019, so the world can shine a light on all orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues right now.

Uniting the World for Orphan Pets
Now going into its seventh year, Remember Me Thursday® aims to unite individuals and pet adoption organizations around the world to be an unstoppable, integrated voice for orphan pets in need of forever homes.
“Millions of beautiful, adoptable pets will lose their lives in 2019,” states Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center. “We all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but together, we can raise our voices and share one life-saving message and literally save millions of pets on this one day.”

In the previous six years of the campaign, 180 countries supported the movement with hundreds of thousands of individuals and more than 700 separate animal welfare organizations around the globe holding candle-lighting ceremonies of their own, spreading the message on social media, visiting the Remember Me Thursday website, or lighting a virtual candle. Celebrities such as Diane Keaton, Kristin Chenoweth, Carrie Ann Inaba, Katherine Heigl, Pauley Perrette and dozens more have used social media to share the “opt to adopt” message and save orphan pets. In 2016 and 2017, social media pet stars such as Lil Bub, Cole & Marmalade, and Tuna Melts My Heart also joined the cause.
This YouTube video tells you a bit more about Remember Me Thursday:
Remember Me Thursday 2019
Why do we participate in Remember me Thursday? For the love, joy and companionship that my rescued/shelter pets have brought me. I have rescued many pets over the years and most recently, my sweet puppy Daffodil has joined the pack from Vanderpump Dogs in Los Angeles, CA

Daffodil is a little Pomeranian that came to us at just a couple of months old. When she arrived at Vanderpump Dogs, she was just a day or two old and as they were soon to find out, she was starving to death. Her mom wasn’t able to feed her and even though the pups she had were suckeling, nothing was coming out for them. Once this was discovered, all the pups had to be bottle fed. Daffodil was severely dehydrated and she was fading fast. The quick response from the Vanderpump Dogs’ Team saved her life. They bottle fed her and kept her warm. They snuggled with her and listened to every little noise or movement she made. She almost died three times in a month and a half. Somehow, this little ball of fluff found the will to survive and thrive. Once she was out of the woods with her health concerns, Vanderpump Dogs put her up for adoption. That sweet little face captured our hearts and when we had the chance to meet her in person, we adopted her on the spot.
We support Remember Me Thursday on her behalf today! Here is to all the orphaned pets in the world! Our wish is that they find the love and the homes that they deserve. They will make your life whole and you will become their whole life!
